This past weekend I made a second trip to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, again staying in the main Twee Rivieren Camp.
As on my last trip I had two full days in the park so I opted for one day driving north to the Namibian border at Mata Mata Camp on the Auob River and back, having driven up the Nossob River last trip, and the other doing the same circular route via the dunes.
Again I was not disappointed with the raptors to be seen, adding good photos of Gabar Goshawk, Rock Kestrel and Secretarybird. Other birds photographed were Sociable Weaver, Swallow-tailed Bee-eater, Cape Starling, Cape Crow, Chat Flycatcher, Kori Bustard and Northern Black Korhaan.
Of the larger mammals the most commonly seen were Blue Wildebeest, Gemsbok, and Springbok, the last of which I did manage to photograph this time. I saw no Giraffe last time, but got a great shot this trip of a family group in the middle of the road.
Best photo of the weekend, though, must go to this Steenbok.
