Zambia – Kitwe [3]

Atlasville, 03 Dec 2008

Just back this evening from my fourth trip to Zambia since my last post, where I have again been staying in the same first-floor room of the guesthouse in Kitwe. With only office-based work at the moment these last few trips have been all about what I can see in the garden from the balcony of my room.

With one exception I have added nothing new to my Kitwe garden list. That exception was a lifer, a Brown-necked Parrot of the suahelicus sub-species known locally as the Grey-headed Parrot. The worst part though was, as that particular visit was literally for 2 nights, I didn’t take the Canon gear with me and just had an old HP Photosmart digital with me. So I actually had to go out into the garden and get as close as I could. The result was not great, but at least it is a ‘good ID’ shot. Hopefully I might do better on a future trip.
